Corrections
The policy
If something here is wrong, the correction is published — not quietly edited. Corrections are handled in the same order every time:
- The claim is re-read at its source. Not at a mirror, a cache or another site.
- The claim record is updated with a new verification date, or marked stale, conflicting or withdrawn if the source no longer supports it.
- Everything downstream is re-checked. Because pages cite claims by identifier, the set of pages, guides and rules affected by one claim is known rather than guessed.
- The change is logged in updates with what changed and what it affected.
- If the error was consequential, the page says so where the error was, rather than silently reading correctly afterwards.
A page whose evidence is under correction is withdrawn from the production build rather than left standing with a note. An answer that might be wrong is worth less than no answer.
What counts as an error worth reporting
- A requirement stated here that the authority’s own page does not state.
- A requirement that has changed at the source since our verification date.
- An ordering, day-count or date calculation that does not follow from the cited claims.
- A page that reads as advice for a case it does not actually cover.
- Anything that could lead someone to travel when they are not ready.
Disagreement with an authority’s rule is not a site error — that belongs to the authority.
Current corrections
None. No evidence-dependent page has been published yet, so there is nothing on this site that could yet have been consequentially wrong. Corrections will be listed here and in the update log as they occur.
